Mindful Tech Teen Group

Is your smart phone a tool or a temptation? Do you use your computer to be productive or to procrastinate?

Access to these tech devices allow us to pursue our hobbies and interests, express ourselves, stay connected with loved ones, and learn more about the world around us. They can also distract us from important responsibilities, get in the way of building meaningful friendships, foster unhealthy habits (such as “doomscrolling”), and reinforce feelings of low self-esteem or self-worth.

If you’re a teen (or the parent/legal guardian of a teen) who wants to embrace a healthier relationship with texting, social media platforms, TV/movie streaming services, video games, and other aspects of everyday technology, then consider joining the Mindful Tech Teen Group!

Who is this group for?

If you’re a teen (or the parent/legal guardian of a teen) between the ages of 13-17 years old who currently resides in California and wants to find balance with their use of technology, then I invite you to join the Mindful Tech Teen Group!

When and where does this group meet?

The 6-week Mindful Tech Teen Group meets for 90 minutes on Monday evenings between the hours of 5-8 PM (depending on group members’ availability). All meetings are conducted using Google Meet, a HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing platform.

How much does this group cost?

$150 is due at the time of enrollment. This cost covers the entire 6-week series and all digital materials that will be provided to group members (e.g., handouts/worksheets that can be used to supplement group discussions).

How do I join the group?

Start by filling out our group interest form to indicate your availability for future group series! Once we’re ready to start the next group series, you’ll be contacted by the group’s facilitator to complete a pre-group screening/assessment. After completing the screening/assessment and reviewing additional details about the group (e.g., start and end dates), you’ll be asked to pay the $150 enrollment fee to reserve your spot.
